Greetings from Guatemala, Wow do we have a lot of things to tell you about this month, first of all the new school year is well underway and the kids have had an extra treat here. August and Brittany Huckabee came for a visit. Brittany is the sister-in-law of August and she stayed for two weeks while August is still here and will stay untill March 3rd. Brittany is married to August’s Brother Austin, he is a military man and they live in Killeen, August lives in San Angelo, Tx. They played with the kids at times of recess and gave the Devotionals on Thursdays. Then after school is out for the day they came up to the restoration center to do some work with us Brittany helped Georgette paint and August and I have been welding on Gates for the fence. August picked up welding really fast and has been a big help.

We would like to share a story with you about a little boy in the school, His name is Miguel and has Arthritis at age 5, so sad, but with the Grace of God and lots of prayers and the help of Houston First Baptist medical team who are supplying the medications needed to help this little guy. He is much more active and is able to run and play with the rest of the kidos. Just an added note through your donations we got him a new pair of shoes. He got the biggest smile on his face, and had to show off his new shoes, Thank you.

Now for an update on Sarah Noemi, we just found out today that she needs the operation and it can only be done in the United States also the prosthesis she needs is in the States. So the way We are looking at this is that our God is big enough if she needs the operation in the states he will find a way to get her there. Gods word says in Ephesians 2:10 For we are Gods workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. We thank you for your good works you are helping us to do. One of the things you are helping with is that the Van at Casa Shalom needed new tires so with your help we have given them the funds to get new tires. Also with Casa Shalom we went to a small community called Rio Bravo and we took them a load of food enough to last three months. This area of Guatemala is so very poor and the kids are literally starving to death 7 children in 5 months. We took rice, beans, masa, (for making tortillas) powdered milk, cereal, eggs, oranges, pineapples, watermelons, cantaloupes, sugar, and cooking oil. Jessica Hanson’s parents came down from Florida and brought a bunch of shoes and clothes, The pastor at Rio Bravo the only way that I know him is as (Pastor Freddy) has been feeding 130 children every morning 7 days a week breakfast at 6;30 am and that is likely the only meal they will get all day, this beaks down to about 24 cents for one child for one meal for one day. One of the reasons we went is to help transport the food and look into getting them some purified water. They have a bad problem with their water and most all the people there have parasites. It looks like we are going to be able to provide them with two 1,100 liter water tanks, about 575 gallons that we will keep filled with purified water for drinking only. We feel that this will greatly help the health of these folks. Just for your information the total cost of the food for these guys was about $2,500.00 that was you and Casa Shalom, and Jessica’s Dad, Rick Whitter he is a Pastor of a church in Florida and they gave a large contribution as well. When the body of Christ comes together we can accomplish great things for the Lord.

I know that I have told you all this before, I would like to just say it again, You through your obedience to give are making these kind of things happen, we are only getting to observe the results of your faithfulness. It is my prayer that we are good stewards of the things that he gives us. Also we pray for Gods Blessings on those who give with all the prayer support, we thank you and we know that is what sustains us. We love you all and miss you too.

And now for the prayer request, Please keep the kids at Gerizim and their parents in your prayers, Charlie and Pat Reynolds, Casa Shalom, and Rio Bravo. We are doing better with the language but still have a long way to go so please keep that before the lord. And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he is my disciple, I tell you the truth, he will certainly not lose his reward. Matthew 10:42 (NIV)
